Multihulls World Magazine’s Walkthrough Video

SIXTY SOLAR POWER
Oceanic Range

Presented at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the SIXTY SOLAR POWER leverages our decade of manufacturing experience to deliver a long-range power yacht. In this detailed video walkthrough , Gwen Dorning from Multihulls World takes us aboard to inspect the new model, which carries Xquisite’s signature design language, including the distinctive aft arch.

This flagship power cat features advanced hybrid propulsion, offering versatile operating profiles: a top speed of 20 knots under the twin 440 HP Yanmar diesels or a range of 3,000 nm at 6 knots in electric mode. Supported by 8 kWp of solar panels, she is designed for significant energy autonomy. Additionally, the layout prioritizes ease of handling and superior comfort, featuring a dedicated full-beam master suite.

Design Architecture & Build Standards

The SIXTY SOLAR POWER retains Xquisite’s established aesthetic but is engineered specifically for blue-water power cruising. A primary design requirement was “single-handed” capability; systems are laid out so that a couple or a solo skipper can operate this 62-footer safely.
Hull number one utilizing real glass hull windows for clarity and longevity rather than acrylics. She features flush decks that seamlessly connect the interior and exterior spaces. The structural design of the flybridge hardtop and aft arch allows for the integration of a significant solar array without compromising the yacht’s lines or stability.

Deck Layout & Living Areas

The deck layout maximizes usable space with a flush transition between the protected aft cockpit and the saloon. The cockpit is equipped with a wet bar, grill, and icemaker, amenities that are repeated on the expansive flybridge, which provides a second dining area and helm station. Inside, the galley is set up for extended cruising, featuring a large central island with safety handrails, domestic-sized refrigeration, and induction cooking. Uniquely, this model utilizes the space above the master cabin as a recessed “front cockpit” lounge. Protected by a sunshade, this area offers a private exterior zone separate from the operational areas of the boat.

Hybrid Propulsion & Maneuverability

The engineering centerpiece is the parallel hybrid propulsion system, combining twin 440 HP Yanmar diesels with two 130 kW electric motors and a 180 kW generator. This configuration offers redundancy and operational flexibility: higher speeds for coastal passages or silent, efficient cruising for long-range autonomy.
Handling is optimized via a sophisticated lower helm station equipped with triple touchscreens. Crucially, a dedicated side door allows the skipper immediate access to the side deck during docking maneuvers. Combined with remote yacht controllers and a hydraulically opening toy garage for easy tender deployment, her operation is intuitive for her size.

Full-Beam Master Accommodation

The power cat’s configurable layout allows for a master suite that occupies the full beam of the forward section. The cabin features a centerline king-size bed beneath large skylights. A standout practical feature is the electrically opening front window, which provides excellent natural cross-ventilation through the interior, reducing reliance on air conditioning.
The suite includes a substantial walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom with an oversized shower. The starboard hull accommodates a VIP cabin with a workspace and a forward guest cabin. Both guest spaces benefit from large opening portholes integrated into the hull windows, a standard feature ensuring fresh air flow below decks.

Solar Capacity & Electrical Systems

Prioritizing energy autonomy, she is equipped with an 8 kWp solar array using walkable glass panels distributed across the flybridge hardtop, aft arch, and foredeck. This system charges a high-capacity Lithium-Ion battery bank, allowing her to run essential “hotel loads” silently at anchor without running a generator. The electrical architecture is designed for redundancy, with the hybrid drives acting as high-output chargers while underway to automate energy management.
