Exterior Features: Where Luxury Meets Functionality

Multihulls review starts by showcasing the expansive carpeted area of the X5 Plus, perfect for social gatherings or relaxation. This area features electric tables that can be lowered to form large beds, offering versatile outdoor living spaces.

Lounge Area and Storage: Designed for Comfort and Utility

The rear lounge area is designed for comfort, with side cushions that can be lifted to create face-to-face seating. A special feature is the ample storage space, including an under-deck compartment for scuba gear, ensuring you have everything you need for a great time on the water.

The Arch: A Signature Element with Multiple Functions

The arch at the back of the boat is a signature element of Xquisite Yachts. It serves multiple purposes: it guides all the lines back to the helm station, provides shade, and supports solar panels, making her a marvel of design and functionality.

The helm station is thoughtfully designed with the sailor in mind. All lines and winches are easily accessible, and the station features cutting-edge electronics. The helm can be fully enclosed or opened like a convertible, offering flexibility in various weather conditions.

The interior of the X5 Plus is a blend of luxury and functionality. The galley comes standard with an induction cooktop, oven, and dishwasher. Storage is abundant, and she even includes a fully loaded toolbox, underscoring Xquisite’s strong focus on after-sales service.

Owner’s Suite: Functional Elegance

Thanks to its unique window design, the owner’s suite offers ample headroom and natural light. The suite features a standard double bed, abundant storage, and a well-designed bathroom with a double sink.

          • Hull & Appendages

            The hull is of sandwich composite construction using Quadriaxial stitched fabrics, Divinicell composite PVC foam with appropriate densities as the core and infused with Epoxy Vinyl Ester and E Glass stitched Multiaxial Glass, This gives a stiff laminate with excellent strength and lightweight properties.
            The engine beds are of GRP and bonded to the hull. (New engine beds was fitted)
            Sea-cocks under water line are Marelon and located in accessible positions.
            Hose connections to inboard side of stainless steel sea-cocks have two stainless steel hose clamps.
            For osmosis protection an ISO / NPG Gelcoat is used
            Standard Gelcoat colour is white. (Hulls were buffed and damaged areas repaired)
            Rudders are solid GRP boasting a 55mm solid stainless steel shaft with hydraulic steering system. (Rudder system was removed and reconditioned, new bushes with seals. Entire new rudder and shaft fitted on port side. Hydraulic system was flushed and filled with new oil)
            Structural bulkheads are of Lloyds Marine ply wood construction and hand laminated to hull and deck.
            Bulkhead thickness is 24mm.
            Dedicated collision bulkheads at bow, at transom (to protect the engines) and at the bottom section of each keel
            Underwater epoxy – Antifouling application (Sanded down and fresh Antifouling was applied)

            The deck is of sandwich composite construction using Quadriaxial-stitched fabrics with end grain Balsa of appropriate thickness as the core

            Cabin windows, non-opening, in tinted glass. (All windows was removed, resealed and acrylic vinyl applied to protect bonding area)
            Two x 5kg composite gas bottles with LP regulator and pressure gauge in self-ventilating gas locker in cockpit seat.
            Steaming lights on crossbeam A-frame, mast and aft targa
            Stainless steel toe rail covering hull deck bond. (All stainless steel was cleaned and polished)
            Two pull-pits with white moulded GRP seats
            Side railings with mid gate in solid stainless steel tubing with middle stainless steel wire. Railing height 720mm
            8 x Large mooring cleats for marina berthing.
            2 x Transom cleats on inner hull
            Roller furling self tacking Jib with curved traveller situated in front of mast step with furler control line and jib sheet led aft to winch in cockpit

            1 x 110 volt splash proof outlet at cockpit table
            14 x large, non-opening recessed windows in tinted glass in hull outer sides (All windows was removed, resealed and acrylic vinyl applied to protect bonding area)
            Cockpit and helm cushions including backrests (Missing one was replaced and Sunbrella material cleaned)
            Davits on aft sunbed with electric winch fitted in sunbed locker. Ropes and blocks included. (Serviced)
            Gas BBQ on transom (BBQ was cleaned and new gas line fitted)
            Teak deck in cockpit, aft deck and transom steps ( broken sections of flooring was repaired and entire flooring cleaned)
          • Helm Station

            All lines led back to helm for easy single handed sailing
            Winches are 2 speed electric self tailing, size 60 (serviced)
            14 x rope clutches at helm station for clutching sheets, halyards and ropes
            Second control with chain counter for windlass operation at cockpit (New unit fitted)
            Extra large double seat helm chair with padded backrest in cockpit (All cushions was recoved)
            Large power dampened compass ahead of helm station in cockpit.

            The hull is of sandwich composite construction using Quadriaxial stitched fabrics, Divinicell composite PVC foam with appropriate densities as the core and infused with Epoxy Vinyl Ester and E Glass stitched Multiaxial Glass, This gives a stiff laminate with excellent strength and lightweight properties.
            The engine beds are of GRP and bonded to the hull. (New engine beds was fitted)
            Sea-cocks under water line are Marelon and located in accessible positions.
            Hose connections to inboard side of stainless steel sea-cocks have two stainless steel hose clamps.
            For osmosis protection an ISO / NPG Gelcoat is used

            Two x Yanmar Marine diesel engines Model 4JH80-TE (80HP at 3200RPM) with SD60-T sail drive units, both freshwater cooled, Stbd side coupled via the heat exchanger to a 60L Calorifier for hot water. (Complete engine and saildrive rebuild by Yanmar Cape Town)
            Each engine is mounted on a specially moulded bed.

            All freshwater hoses of re-enforced PVC tubing with “speed fit” connections.
            All hot water piping enclosed in a neoprene covering to maintain temperature over long periods of time
            860 L rigid polyethylene water tanks in front lockers for easy removal and cleaning. (Removed and cleaned)
            Tank vents terminate on deck
            Water heater of 60lt. Complete with strainers and check valves. (New unit fitted)
            All grey water from showers is discharged overboard by a automatic drain pump
            Two large capacity water pressure pumps mounted in front lockers near water tanks with accumulator tank
            Each pump draws water from the appropriate fresh water tank and service the entire boat.
            100 Ltr/26.42 US gal/min manual bilge pump, one for each hull.
            Outlets are above water level and discharge overboard.
            Holding tanks for 3 x toilets. (Tanks removed, cleaned and new sanitary hoses fitted)
            4 x hi capacity electric bilge pumps with automatic sensors for main bilge area. (New unit fitted in stbd bilge)

          • Electrical

            On board DC electrics are 12V with two wire-insulated return. (Wiring was inspected and neatend up where nessasary)
            On board AC electrics are both 110V and 220V
            Wires are sized to minimize voltage drop. (Wiring was inspected and neatend up where nessasary)
            All light current wiring is silicon tinned wiring which is flame proof and does not give off toxic vapours
            All light current conductors carrying an excess of 50 Amps are 50-70mm².
            All light current conductors programmed and powered by C-Zone digital switching
            Mastervolt 12V gel battery bank 1000 Ahr (batteries new in 2019)
            Separate batteries supplied for engine and generator starting. (New 2022)
            For good heavy current termination, copper tinned bus bars are used.
            A comprehensive DC main digital switching switch panel is located in the Nav Station.
